Red Castle Sport Carrier

Red Castle Sport Carrier

The Baby Bjorn has held the crown for some time as #1 baby carrier. Some companies have tried to duplicate the simplicity and stylish look of the Bjorn, but have not had success in reducing the carrier’s popularity.

The Red Castle Sport could possibly become the next “must have” baby carrier. Not only does it have a good range of colours, but this carrier caters to your babies changing preferences.

  • This is a terribly designed babycarrier: 1. baby is positioned too low on mother’s torso. 2. The baby’s weight it supported via narrow crotch panel which is bad for the infant’s spine, neck and breathing. 3. The carrier’s seat does not extend to the baby’s knees, thus circulation to their legs via the femoral artery will be cut off. 4. Baby is unable to achieve a natural position (i.e. arms and legs tucked in). 5. this carrier makes breastfeeding difficult or impossible, let alone hands free breastfeeding. 6. Harness style carriers (the one featured) are dangerous to newborns due to the risk of positional asphyxiation– the newborn cannot rest their head against the caregivers chest or shoulder, instead the weight of their head forces their chin to neck. 7. The carrier prevents parents from customizing positioning and featured narrow, one-shouldered straps. 8. The body or harness of the carrier is one-size fits few and is not adjustable as the baby grows into toddlerhood. 9. The carrier is clearly not made from natural fibers or safe dyes and clearly contains plastic. 10. the material is not breathable and will likely off-gas manufacturing chemicals.

Parents: there are so many other options for wearing your baby. If you are a sporty parent, there are soft-structured carriers with proper ergonomic support for parent and baby alike. Nothing is sportier than a baby carrier than allows you to play sports (or go for a hike, etc.) Please do not purchase ‘crotch danglers’ or ‘starfish-holders’ style baby carriers. They are a waste of your money. Instead seek out a local babywearing group or try a web search and learn about safe alternatives to this thing.

A good babycarrier need only be a long rectangle of fabric (natural fiber please) so long as you understand how to tie it to safely hold your baby. There are many better designed, LESS EXPENSIVE, baby carriers that can be used from birth through preschool. Please seek them out.
